After a redeye flight home to surprise the mister with my presence twelve hours early, we met up with Will and his pup, Beta, at the dog park. Beta and Harley hit it off (after they both realized that their mutual easygoingness made for good fun).
I’m hoping eventually I’ll be able to stoop down for better angles without a couple pairs of teddy bear eyes and wet noses curiously checking out my camera…

Harley shows his support for the Leafs (even as another game ends in disappointment)…while Tucker pulls out all the stops trying to steal the show.

In the background is just one of the bags of clothes for goodwill. And we’re not done yet. It’s been a relaxing, but still productive, holiday break.

“What’s that noise?”
This morning Huntington Drive, just west of Shamrock, was taken over by parrots. Yes. Parrots you expect to see in your friend’s parent’s living room…not roaming the streets. Richard gave us a bit of the back story - a pet store owner released the parrots when his storefront caught fire. 20-30 years later you have a full fledged wild colony flock squawking their way around town.
Here are some photos of the little guys. They’re so cute…until it’s your car that gets pelted by pine cones which then sets of the alarm…anyone own a grey Altima?

Oh, wow. I just became a 13 year old girl again, planning her dream farm and how many horses/dogs/ponies/goats/cats would be roaming around.

I want. I want. I want.

Remember that episode of Seinfeld where they talk about creating a show about nothing and Jerry’s convinced it’s a silly idea because who the hell would watch that?

These are the moments and the times when it’s nice to know the little things, like a puppy zombie’d out on tummy rubs and a cat infatuated with used gym socks (seriously) are really the best parts of what makes life…life.

I should probably get back to some more balanced, thoughtful and potentially more meaningful subject matter here, but right now it’s kinda nice to just be taking it all in. I’m sure I’ll get worked up about something or encounter another random individual that makes my insides scream WTF soon enough…
