This is from the collection of a photographer friend of mine. While you may think “gee, does that mean they’re cheap and poorly designed?”, in actual fact this demonstrates how well designed they are (or at the very least, how lucky my friend is).

Long story short, he was standing next to the curb wearing the camera around his neck when a car whizzed by and hit the lens – taking it off and splitting it in half. Amazingly, there was no damage to the body of his camera at all.
