Officially a Font-o-holic

Yes, it is true. And I’m definitely going to have to do this at some point. “Turn your handwriting into a font.” I’m in heaven.

Especially since my handwriting continues to degrade each and every day that I spend type, type, typing away…maybe that’s why I continue to cling to handwritten calenders and to-do lists. I at least have to keep a couple of areas to regularly practice.

Going to need a car wash

This was the state of my car yesterday when Adam and I left the office. Ashes, ashes everywhere.

Car covered in ashes

Yuck.

“Has Pasadena burned down yet?”

Thankfully, no. The MusicIP contingent is safe and sound, but still relatively near all the fires popping up around southern California (in a “closer than if we were in Albuquerque, Seattle, or Halifax kind of way”…). The damage that has been done is pretty staggering and significant…and unfortunately not uncommon in this part of the world. As was so eloquently said this morning by Wendell – “It’s nature doing some gardening.” Sad, but so true.

However, here’s a glimpse of the lovely air outside my office today, at around 10:20am.

low air quality

Yummy. Take a deep breath…

My Walkman cost more than your iPod

Seriously, people. This is kind of ridiculous. ALMOST ridiculous enough that I love it, but not quite.

Necklaces

In case you are wondering why I’m bewildered by two very familiar devices, it’s because these are replicas that serve only one purpose. To bling-i-fy.

iPod necklace

For 5x the cost of a Walkman cassette player, and 1/2 the cost of an iPod Nano, you too can wear your tech savvy on your sleeve neck, for all to see.

Oh wait – aren’t you already doing that by wearing the actual player itself?

We should all be so lucky

My dad has a North American flight pass that means flying is sort of like taking a cab or a bus for him. Right, yeah – he’s lucky. BUT…more importantly, I’m the lucky one who had the nice surprise of glasses (I left them in Toronto last month and have been warily night driving ever since) and a hug delivered to me personally Monday morning by a dad who lives 4000+ miles away. He had another meeting in L.A., and I got to reap the benefits. SCORE!

Now if only they would make an (affordable) FAMILY North American pass… then I would really be the luckiest girl in the world.
