Lots to absorb in DC, and after a long trek back to Los Angeles, I hardly feel prepared to say something halfway intelligent about everything. I will say though, this was one of the best conferences I’ve been to so far. I’m already looking forward to FMC Policy Summit ‘08…though I might be looking forward to a good nights sleep a little bit more at this particular moment…

“What I’ve learned over the years, particularly in the world of events, is that it’s a very very complicated ecosystem - a lot of it gets to performers of all stripes…all have different levels of technical ability…nowadays it’s so complicated, particularly in the event world. Relationships that have been standing for decades, the artist, the promoters, the labels. Eventful’s not going to disintermediate that industry - we’re trying to build tools that address the needs from a whole spectrum of technically sophisticated to not so technically sophisticated.”

“I think particularly with the presidential election coming up, it’s hard to imagine a major piece of communications legislation through…but I would encourage vigilance here…as of now, several FCC commissioners feel very strongly about protecting us. The people on the other side, besides having so much money, are extraordinarily good at reaching out and making sure their message is heard.”
