Check out KTLA’s Morning Show page for my pal, Leila’s interview - go to Features, then Dashing Diva Nail Salon – I was lucky enough to be in the far left corner getting my toes done while supporting the Dashing Diva team…seriously, if you’re
anywhere near the Pasadena area, this is where to go…they do a great job, are reasonably priced and best of all friendly. Not to mention all the hygiene/nail protection related reasons why I prefer them. When Leila and I first met, they were just opening and my nails were wrecked from bio-gels - over the past 6 months, they’ve grown, are healthy again and always look great. Whenever the whole
MusicIP marketing team is in town, Dashing Diva is a must. At this point, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
And I swear…those were mocktails…but they won’t be on Thursday!
I’m still blogging on my PC, but I’m loving my Mac more and more each day. One of the pieces of the computer puzzle that will migrate over with me is Microsoft Office - for Mac. Now, this is expensive software. Luckily, our friendly CEO Matthew is an alumni of Microsoft, so he gets a hefty discount on this kind of stuff. Hurray!
Not so fast…
In the meantime, while I wait for the software to show up (no click, purchase, license in email — they have to send the whole shebang, box and all for this deal), I went for the trial version. Groovy…I’m kicking back, enjoying the Mac/PC unity happening right here, when I have to go back to an email I’d sent earlier that morning.
Wait a…what the he-…I didn’t type that?!?!
Down at the bottom, in a not exactly inconspicuous spot are these words:
“Sent using the Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac Test Drive”
I’m sorry. I did WHAT?
[This is where under normal circumstances I’d include a screenshot of said offense. But my screengrab software is on the PC. I could have taken a computer with my camera. But that’s gone missing too. Can’t my tech toys and I just get along?!]
[SUCCESS! Wendell = Genius]

Yes, that’s right. Until I receive my license, everyone and their mother (including my mother, hi mom!) will be made aware that I’m “testing” this out. Is it free advertising? Like, “WOW - Rachel’s using Entourage 2004…I should definitely look into that $600 package…I hear Word and that Excel thingie are included in that…seems like a sweet deal…”
Well…not exactly.
I hadn’t even been using it for 24 hours before three people pointed out that stupid text and offered a variety of other free mail solutions which I might prefer - that line became a jumping off point for “Microsoft does dumb things like auto-add crappy text to your emails - you should try…”
I don’t think that’s what whoever in God’s name decided on this tidbit intended.
(p.s. Although I grumble, I’ll be sticking with Entourage because of the blackberry and Adam’s infinite knowledge of syncing it to Exchange and whatnot. But I don’t have to like it.)

So, I’m at the office today - it’s a good thing…pretty soon I’ll be free to talk about why…amongst things that must get done which mostly take time, but don’t require a whole lots of ‘click, click, type, type’, I’m tackling my tax returns today…super exciting, don’t I know.
While discussing our plans for Austin, Adam came across the interesting fact that Tokyo Police Club is from Newmarket, ON. Well, on that note I think they just moved up from ‘might wanna see’ to ’see or bust’ in the ever changing four day rankings of SXSW plans.
I’m thinking t-shirts. Like right here. Except I’m not really from Newmarket, but I have been there many times, and lived a measly 5 minutes from there for longer than I’ve lived anywhere else. That’s something…I think.
Alright, maybe not.
