Busy Busy
June 5th, 2006 RachelThought I’d write a quick note after a friendly "wtf? you need to update more…" message from a fellow blogger…(alright I’m paraphrasing and may have added that first part for effect, but the point is it feels good that someone noticed I’m not on here).
The short answer is "where’s the time?" and the long answer has a lot to do with the complete overhaul in my computer user habits within the last two months. During exams I was online all the time either to study, to work, to connect with people, to relax, and (of course) to avoid the studying. The word "study" is now a foggy memory - even though I’m learning constantly, to say it’s studying would imply a sort of chore-like quality that (so far) doesn’t exist anymore.
I go to work, I come home for lunch to let my puppy stretch his legs and do his thing, back to work, and then home for the evening. Yoga and reading are now part of my routine instead of being an indulgence I’ve vaguely forgotten. I love my life. I miss my family, I miss my friends, but I really love my life.
So…blogging. Not being on the computer as much except for at work has made it difficult to re-establish the blogging habit. I don’t want to just post stuff to post, and if what I post is nonsense then I want to at least feel confident enough to say "you might think it’s dumb, but I enjoyed writing it and I’m glad I posted it" instead of "gee, yeah that was just fluff and filler, huh…".
I’ll get back here, or there, or wherever I end up rambling/musing and hopefully sometimes saying something that has at least a teeny taste of merit. At least every once in a while.
Thanks for those that keep checking back to see if I’ve said something in a while. And an extra special thanks to those who say ‘tsk tsk…" because I haven’t been writing. It means a lot, and it’s what is motivating me to try to figure out how to work blogging back into my life.
