I’d be dancing around this wee apartment like a crazy woman because my world is now back in order!!!
Why you ask?
Because Belle and Sebastian have somehow fixed up their SXSW schedule to one that I can manage…i.e. I GET TO SEE THEM AT 11PM ON MARCH 15th!!!!!!!!

When you can’t dance, blog instead. That’s my motto. Okay, Court…I’ll go back to working on my essay now (I’m on page two! Of the reading, not the paper that is…hehe).

Of all the ways to show your support for something, this is pretty much tops in my books…the only way I can think that someone could go further would be the actual tattoo strategically placed to be visible for always. But that seem so done…
Now, it also helps that Rob is a quite an amazing individual who’s done a helluva lot in the world of technology, especially on an open source front. As the founder and lead developer of MusicBrainz, this is one smart guy doing incredible things.
You can also see some of the other hair-dos Rob has sported over the years here.
The MusicIP ball is a rollin’…
Thanks to James Duncan of O’Reilly Media for the photo of Rob…can’t wait to see it in person! Six days…six days…

Other than I [heart] Huckabees, there’s been nothing Naomi Watts has done which really interested me. She’s okay looking, not the best actor in my books, and just seems kinda blah.
But now I know that she is actually probably the worst actor I’ve ever seen in action. And here’s why…
Now, I love the Oscars (even though I was pretty bored this year and not surprised by anything…I was happy to see George and Phillip take home awards. Reese too, though she really droned on for waaaay too long). But the best part is the red carpet time - seeing all the dresses, who looks magnificent and who should know better. Ryan Seacrest was at the helm this year - since I’ve been missing out on most of the American Idol action this year, he was at least tolerable to me.
But the interview with Naomi Watts was over the top. There may have been accusations earlier this year that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were being paid to tote around Starbucks cups…that’s nothing against the "subtle" conversation about hybrid cars that was oh so un-casually worked in by Watts.
Watts, wearing a beige coloured Givenchy off the shoulder gown with
tulle, was willing to talk about another topic - how she arrived at the
Academy Awards.
"I opted not to go for a limousine," said Watts,
who rode in an environmentally friendly hybrid Lexus and sounded like a
car salesman.
"The hybrids are just all what it’s about and we’re just doing what we can to try and change the environment.
"They drive 20 miles per gallon or over and they’re 90 per cent cleaner than any other new car on the road."
The topic she would not discuss was Nicole Kidman’s wedding and whether or not she was invited/attending. The transition to shill-mania was weak and Watts was visibly nervous as she awkwardly worked through the oh-so "cleverly", "spontaneous" soundbytes that dribbled from her lips. Horrible.
We all have to make a living, and I can understand the desire to promote a product/cause/something you love…but seriously, if Watts was a car salesman, I would have been so unconvinced by her uncomfortable/shifty eyed endorsement of the car that I’d have probably assumed that instead of being safe and environmentally friendly, it was instead the number one killer of both people and trees.
