Check out 30 Boxes - I am in shock and awe at how ridiculously cool and useful this thing is.
I have *hated* keeping track of my dates, birthdays, tasks, etc on computer calendars. I’ve tried, but the closest I seem to come at being successful is by printing off a calendar with Word and writing it in. That’s how digital my important dates have been. Til now.
The first thing I noticed - it’s tracking my blog posts on the dates they appeared.
Then - oh, there’s my Flickr pictures.
THEN - oh, there’s Wendell’s party on Friday…wait a second, what? a Google map to the place!?!! Insanely useful.
Finally - hey, there’s a birthday later this week…what, it noticed that it’s a birthday and wants to know if it should make this an annual occurance???
There’s more, lots more. These just account for the revelations within the first twenty minutes of use. Add buddies, invite other people to use it so you can see their calendars too (yes, of course, you don’t *have* to see everyone - see just yours, compare yours with another person or people, or look at how the calendars of all your friends match up. Your choice!)
I heart 30 boxes.
